Dysarthria

Dysarthria

Dysarthria is a motor speech disorder that occurs when the muscles used for talking are weak or difficult to control. This results in the person’s speech sounding soft, slow, slurred, or unclear. People with dysarthria may also have difficulty controlling the pitch, volume, and rhythm of their speech production. As a result, listeners may struggle to hear or understand what the person with dysarthria is saying.
